PREPARATION

STEP 1

Proof the yeast in the warm water and set aside. Beat until smooth: egg yolks, warm milk,sugar,salt, yeast mixture,and 2/3cup of the flour.

Cut Betterine into remaining flour until particles are the size of LARGE PEAS. Pour in yeast mixture and mix lightly with a spatula just until flour is moistened.

Cover and chill at least 2 hours or up to 3 days

STEP 2

Knead lightly over a floured board. Divide into thirds. Roll each into 16" diameter circle and cut into 12 pie shaped wedges.

Roll wedges starting at the wide end. Place point side down on a greased baking sheet.

Cover with towel and let rise at room temperature until doubled.

STEP 3

Brush each with beaten egg white. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 20 minutes.

Serve warm or re-heat in low oven - not microwave.

Makes 36 small, but you can make as big as you want.

1 package yeast

1⁄4 cup warm water

2 egg yolks

1 cup lukewarm milk

1 tablespoon sugar

1⁄2 teaspoon salt

1⁄3 cups flour

PREPARATION

STEP 1

in a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight

STEP 2

Roll dough out to fit a 9 inch pie plate. Place crust in pie plate. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pie plate

PREPARATION

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 350°F

STEP 2

In mixer bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy

STEP 3

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla and almond flavor. Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, starting with the flour.

STEP 3

Pour into prepared pans. Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean

STEP 5

Cool 10 minutes in pan on rack; remove and cool completely before decorating
