PREPARATION

STEP 1

Proof the yeast in the warm water and set aside. Beat until smooth: egg yolks, warm milk,sugar,salt, yeast mixture,and 2/3cup of the flour. Cut Betterine into remaining flour until particles are the size of LARGE PEAS. Pour in yeast mixture and mix lightly with a spatula just until flour is moistened. Cover and chill at least 2 hours or up to 3 days

STEP 2

Knead lightly over a floured board. Divide into thirds. Roll each into 16" diameter circle and cut into 12 pie shaped wedges. Roll wedges starting at the wide end. Place point side down on a greased baking sheet. Cover with towel and let rise at room temperature until doubled.

STEP 3

Brush each with beaten egg white. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 20 minutes. Serve warm or re-heat in low oven - not microwave. Makes 36 small, but you can make as big as you want.

PREPARATION

STEP 1

in a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight

STEP 2

Roll dough out to fit a 9 inch pie plate. Place crust in pie plate. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pie plate

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 350°F

STEP 2

Combine Betterine, sugar and water in a saucepan over a low fire

STEP 3

Bring to a boil, remove from heat and add vanilla extract and chocolate chips. Stir until all chips are melted

STEP 4

Add eggs one at a time. Add flour, baking soda and salt blending all ingredients.

STEP 5

Pour batter into a greased 9” square pan. Bake for 40 minutes. (The outer crust will be more well done, do not let it burn). Cool completely, cut, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
